WEAVING THE THREADS OF
OUR COMMUNITY
Join us in supporting the local businesses that keep our community woven strong. We’ll be updating the guide all season long, adding new local shops, makers, restaurants, and more — so keep checking back to see the latest threads weaving our community together.
We’re inviting local small businesses — shop owners, hairstylists, bakers, creators, and more — to share who you are and what you do. We’ll gather those stories into a community guide to help our neighbors shop, dine, and gift locally all season long.

FLAMINGO ESTATE
ROMA HEIRLOOM TOMATO
The Heirloom Tomato Candle captures the supple, green essence of balmy summer nights in the garden. Think ripe tomatoes hanging heavy from freshly watered vines, their leaves at their most fragrant. The candle releases an intoxicating aroma of herbaceous, peppery earth evoking a wildly nostalgic summer feeling that lingers long after the flame is out.

Rosemary & Clary Sage Hand Soap
This award-winning Castile Hand Soap is made with only oils, like Olive and Babassu, and thickened with natural Sea Salt, which gives it a honey-like texture and a remarkable smell. Made with the purest Rosemary, Sage, Lavender, and Eucalyptus, giving this Hand Soap six times the amount of Essential Oils compared to most brands — packed with ingredients that were handpicked and hand-harvested. Unlike other brands, there’s nothing synthetic or artificial.

FLAMINGO ESTATE
CACTUS COWBOY
The Estate and its neighboring areas — including Highland Park, Eagle Rock, Glendale, and Glassell Park — were once part of Rancho San Rafael, a vast Spanish land grant given to José María Verdugo, a Californio soldier-turned-rancher: the original Cactus Cowboy. Verdugo was a man who lived on his own terms, with his own style. His was a horseback life of cattle drives, citrus orchards, and wide-open land. He was the first of many gentlemen to ride these hills — men with rough hands and soft hearts.
